  • An overview of the Google Summer of Code Project
  • A look at the Google Code-in Project
  • Profiling some open source projects that may be good to get involved with for GSOC or Code-in
  • Information on how to become a mentor
  • A framework for getting more Jamaicans involved in GSOC

Intended Audience

If you're thinking of participating in one of these programs then this is for your. Especially if you are a

  • Tertiary level student
  • Potential Mentor (Coder who works with open source now)
  • Other who may be generally interested

(If you are between the ages of 13 and 17, you'll want to find out about Google Code-in)

Additional information on the session

Alteroo's Tutorate project aims to facilitate the growth of technical knowledge, especially around internet and open source technologies. To that end, the GSOC 2015 briefing meeting fits nicely into this goal. 

Presenter: David Bain (founder of Alteroo and the Tutorate project). He is a recent Google Summer of Code Mentor and Participant.
